Byron Dowd is a singer and songwriter from Texas. He released his first album back in 2012, and soon after that took a break from music to raise his son. Now he has released a new EP titled High Road. This disc features all original material, written by Byron Dowd, showcasing his talent as a lyricist.

From Texas and Oklahoma border, Byron Dowd is the embodiment of Americana music. The real damn deal. Stirring raw emotion, his songs tug hard on the heartstrings with folk, blues and country influences. The lyrics philosophical and haunting are from the soul of a man with eyes wide open wide to the world.
Dowd's country roots arE MOST evident
There are touches of country, blues and folk in the self-titled debut release from Texas' Byron Dowd Band. Dowd's country roots are most evident on the ballads Sinner's Lament and One Hill, as well as the opening track Stained Dirt. Perhaps the strongest country tracks are Footsteps and Nowhere But Here.
